AODA

The goal of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (“AODA”) is to create a more accessible Ontario by identifying, and to the extent possible, preventing and eliminating barriers experienced by persons with Disabilities. OACAS is committed to meeting the objectives and requirements of the AODA for all internet website and web content to conform to WCAG 2.0 level AA wherever possible.

In developing Take5, we have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility requirements have been met:

  • Established and communicated AODA protocols for documentation development
  • Consulted with a focus group on accessibility requirements
  • Utilized accessibility functionality in the development of our website interface(s)
  • Included a feedback mechanism and process for ongoing improvement

Despite our best efforts, the following are limitations that we cannot control:

  • Due to the way that documents/multi-media/mixed-media content from third party sources have been created, it is not technically possible to convert to an accessible format
  • Information comes from another organization and may be subject to copyright and/or considered intellectual property which cannot be altered
  • Information is embedded or contained within a ‘product’
